Don't bother coming here unless you called the 800 number and waited over 2.5 hours on hold to speak with someone to make an appointment. No automated AVR system or call back option available. Not even the website offers the ability to make an appointment or even online chat. Seems like the SSA is still in the 20th Century and hasn't joined the modern age yet.

My visit to the Social Security office in Mineola, NY was full of drama. Totally disrespectful to the public.
Mr. First name only Chris. who identified as a supervisor, was very unprofessional by telling me to sit down while I was reading the rules and regulations of the Social Security office. The Homeland Security told me I needed to stop talking and sit down. I was even threatened with trespassing
bc I requested business cards which they refused to give. I was first told I could not come in the SS office without an appointment. Then security let me in for my award letter. I signed in an received a number took out my phone that’s when the issues started. They definitely need a “ First Amendment Audit “ #Longlslandaudit

Greeted by security officer who was on the ball pointing people in the right direction. Signed in at kiosk get number sit. Numbers don’t come up in order. Depending on what you’re there for and if you have appointment. Both officers were very helpful at answering questions and announcing numbers. And making people laugh. Once I got to window the woman was very quick and courteous. She mentioned I should have gone to another location based on my address? But she was able to take care of it. In and out in less time than an hour midweek mid day.

After a month I can not get in contact whit this people I went in person and I was told to call back I called several times staying on a phone almost 2 hours no one had the time to work in this office is so frustrating they don’t provide the help ir the right information for the citizens
