The initial phone intake didn’t give me a sense of what to expect — or at least I wasn’t expecting a great visit. I’ve been getting care for my condition for 10 years now, including at the Cleveland Clinic. I was really pleased with my visit to the practice today for my regular follow up (but first appointment here). I interacted with a number of staff, all of whom were friendly and considerate. I appreciated their care, both as a patient and as someone who worked in medical settings for more than 4 years.

I love this Dr, he cares! I had a torn retina that he fixed! I'm actually
starting to see better out of my left eye cuz of him! I had a 50/50 chance to get my sight back and it worked!! Tysvm I'd recommend him to all!! Everyone in his office are so nice, polite and friendly! Now I can't see him anymore since my eye is almost healed.. That kind of sucks! He will take care of u!! Thank u to all the office staff to, great ppl!!

Dr. Montzka has been my eye surgeon for years. I have had 4 detached retinas over these many years, and he has successfully operated each time. I would recommend him to anyone needing eye surgery.

My story. My retina detached while sitting on the couch watching TV one evening. I didn't feel it and I didn't notice it until I got up to make some food in the kitchen, then realized my eye could only see part of what was in front of me...I became horrified and scared I was going blind! We rushed to the ER for help only to find the detachment had gone past the macula and was roughly 80% detached...my heart dropped. We made an appointment with Dr. Dan Montzka the next day and he scheduled us for surgery. I was nervous because I'm only 53 years old, play sports and have an active lifestyle, I wasn't ready to be visually crippled. After the surgery, I followed his directive for best recovery with the help of my fiance. The recovery and healing was precisely on course with how Dr. Montzka described it.

I'm now a year and a half post surgery and can gladly say I'm doing very well. I feel blessed to have had such a skilled surgeon handle my procedure. If you are reading this, you've probably experienced the horror of vision loss. I'm living proof you can get your vision back and continue you life as you desire, and maybe even more gratefully than before...I know I'm grateful for my vision and Dr. Montkza.

I was a patient of Dr. Montzka's. After he gave me a shot in the eye for wet macular I began to lose sight in that eye. I was very alarmed at that obviously. I called the office so I could be seen and find out what's going on. The office staff told me he wasn't in that week. No one was covering for him either. My regular Opthamologist called the office to get me in but there was no one there to see me. My regular Opthamologist is not a Retinaologist The office staff told me over the phone it wasn't serious.
Really? Losing sight in my eye isn't serious.

Front desk says this doctor deals only with the retina but they cannot tell if your condition is related to the retina. So they pass you round the office without telling the next person why you clled. You probably should not call this doctor unless you hve a diagnosis of retina issue from another doctor first. I did not see the doctor and have no idea if he is good or not but his front desk leaves a lot to be desired.
