I must add to the 5 star reviews, my surgery went back to when Dr. Tufano was at Johns Hopkins Hospital. I was quite nervous walking into his office for the pre op interview, by the time I was done speaking to him I was at ease with the whole process. Lastly Dr. Tufano had several students with him during the surgery and as a group they came to my bedside to thank me for letting them sit in on the surgery and felt there were very few surgeons that could have shaved a cyst off my esophagus without perforating it. In short he lives up to his reputation and more.

Dr Tufano is AMAZING! He came highly recommended by my endocrinologist and met and exceeded all expectations! Just had nsPFA (non surgical treatment for thyroid nodules) and it was a brilliant experience with 40% reduction in nodules 3 weeks post procedure. Highly recommended waiting the required time to see Dr.T!

You won’t find a better doctor than Dr. Tufano. He and his clinical staff (a special shout-out to Liz, Renata, and Mike) are the absolute best. I consider myself a research queen, especially when it comes to finding the right doctors. When I scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Tufano, I felt confident I was making an informed decision. After that appointment, I knew 110% he was the right choice!
Dr. Tufano takes the time to go over all your options, explaining the pros and cons in terms that anyone without a medical background can easily understand. When it came time for my procedure, I was surprisingly calm, which I credit to his reassuring demeanor and the kindness of his staff. They were incredibly supportive throughout the entire process.
Everything went smoothly, and I am thrilled with the results so far. A quick online search will show you that Dr. Tufano is truly the best of the best. If you’re feeling nervous, scared, or torn between him and another doctor, let me save you the trouble, he’s your guy! He saved my thyroid, and I will forever be grateful.

Dr. Tufano is simply amazing and has renewed my faith that there are still doctors who still care! He made me feel safe, heard, and explained everything in great detail. He removed my entire thyroid expertly, leaving my parathyroid in tact with MINIMAL scarring. His whole team took great care of me including Michael and I just can’t thank them enough.

Dr. Tufano and his team are exceptional! If you are in need of a thyroid or parathyroid surgeon, don’t look any further. I had to have a 2nd or re-operation because of thyroid cancer found during a parathyroid surgery at an endocrine hospital in Tampa. They didn’t do any scans before my surgery and didn’t know about the nodule on my thyroid when they operated on me for my parathyroid. If I had started with Dr. Tufano, I would have only had one surgery because he would have known ahead of time about the thyroid nodule. He does his own scans, definitely find a doctor who does his own scans, not one that relies on a tech to do the scans. Sarasota is so fortunate to have acquired Dr. Tufano from John Hopkins, you will not find a better surgeon.

Dr. Tufano did a great job preforming my thyroidectomy. He was very caring and professional. He explained my options and steps of the surgery. I am very satisfied with the outcome.

Dr Tufano is a true professional and an expert at his craft. He did my total thyroidectomy and he was very accommodating and answered all my questions. Dr Tufano and his staff made sure I was comfortable with the choice of surgery and they were their everystep of the way to make sure I stayed comfortable. Dr Tufano also did an excellent job during surgery and took time to minimize discomfort and scarring. SMH staff and surgical center is top notch and very professional. They even made sure to keep my Wife in the loop before during and after surgery. I would definitely recommend Dr Tufano and his staff for any thyroid and parathyroid needs. I would also recommend Sarasota Memorial Hospital surgical center for any surgical needs.
