I rate the Humane Society of Westchester a five star cause and the service to pets are so high quality, like they spay your pet so you don’t have to pay a vet to do it for you. I adopted my cat, Sunny, at that place and I think personally that it is a good place to adopt a pet at Humane Society of Westchester.

If there are angels on earth it’s at the Humane Society of New Rochelle. I adopted Mia , (formerly Lia) on August 29. She is the most lovable, smart and confident puppy. She knew how to use the pee pads and is so smart. They treated me so well and I felt like part of their family. Thank you for all the love and support. Give kisses to Blue for me.

We adopted a precious kitten named Diego, whom my husband and I have fallen in love with.We received great service and information from the employees of the humane society they were kind and helpful and we recommend that pet lovers pay them a visit.

I had a wonderful experience at the Humane Society of Westchester! The staff are super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They really afforded us the time to meet the dogs we were considering for adoption. We were not rushed and were well supported in choosing our newest member of the family. Highly recommend!

I spoke to Sarah and she was very unhelpful. I have been trying to help a couple of cats whom I believe are lost abandoned cats and I was hoping that she could take them in and take a look at them so that I could at least have the vet spay and neuter two of them and perhaps then I could adopt one. Isnt a shelter suppised tobe a place one can turn to to help abandoned possibly now "feral" .....poor things(!) cats? Her attitude was very nasty. She told me that if I wanted to adopt the cat that I would have to go capture him myself and deal with him and etc with an professional vet. I don't have a trap and I don't have any way of doing that. ? I've been going over there and giving him + the other cat or two who are out there food for over a year now + have been in touch with the animal warden of Mount Vernon to assist with them many times. I just b
had an home made shelter brought over there in the recent big freeze that I had homemade for them. I think this woman is arrogant. Why would somebody who is a shelter person speak to me the way she did and be 100% unhelpful. In other parts of this country I have been told that other people have been able to employ the use of their local shelter when there's an outdoor cat or an in need feral cat who could be adopted. What's with the attitude of this woman ? TERRIBLE. This is a very wealthy community in New Rochelle and I think this is very wrong.

The Humane Society of Westchester is such an amazing place! I adopted my amazing Pomeranian here in March of 2022, now named Big Mac! My husband and I adopted "Zena" yesterday. She is an 8 mos. old tabby that immediately stole our hearts. When I made the appointment to visit the shelter, I was introduced to "Zena" and I fell in love with her right away. Once I brought her home shes been acting like she's lived here forever. She loves belly rubs and sitting in our laps. She loves talking, playing with toys and following us around. She is such a beautiful kitty.
I want to thank Shawn for choosing Zena as a candidate for us. We are so lucky to have her as a new family member.
