No sign on the door telling if it was the Social security office. Couldn't tell if the elevator would take me there. Tried the stairs. The person directing people was very rude. Glad I got a phone appointment so I don't have to face her again. No excuse for that.

Ms Colon, the federal security employee who controls the waiting room is one of the kindest but firm person. She controls the room with no nonsense but a genuine kindness - help to a teenager w/ elderly grandmother - kind and thoughtful words to a specials needs young adult and firm and direct instructions to a disruptive person. All handles with outstanding grace!! Thank you!

If I could give zero stars I would, I have sat on hold for a total for four and a half hours waiting and yet to have anyone pick up, all I want to do is change my name since I got married. Does anyone even work the call center!!!!

The Gainesville office admitted to me on 9 July 2024 that an overpayment reimbursement request sent to me 13 June 2023 on my Social Security payments for 2023 was done due to their error while making my initial information input in June 2023 for me to start my Social Security payments. I paid the overpayment on 9 July and was informed that day of their mistake. I have yet to receive my money back as the incompetence level through out Social Security customer service all the way to the Jamaica Processing Center who sent the request continues to amaze me. I had a month to cough up the incorrect overpayment and as expected, the government does little to fix their mistakes. It’s been almost two months and nothing! I depend on this for my monthly survival. Shame on the Gainesville office and all levels that I have talked to. Sit on your hands and take your lunch break is about all I can expect.

I was at the Gainesville location about two weeks ago with my mother and received excellent service by the male in window 14. My mother then received a call for her interview, Patrick, from the Kennesaw office, and again service was amazing to say the least!
Today we were back at the Gainesville location to provide some paperwork, and unfortunately it was a whole different story. A female on window 16 with hot pink glasses stated we did not have the paperwork needed, stating that the previous co-worker did not collect appropriate paperwork at previous visit, again we were just there so she could upload an identification card. She got up from her chair with the card, without letting us know the reason, comes back hands my mother the card and just sits there, my mom had to ask, is this all, for her to respond, yes that’s it. That’s were I spoke up to question if she uploaded the ID card because she did not say anything at all. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful of her from beginning to end. This visit was in Spanish, I was just there in case my mom needed translation, it’s a shame other people might be putting up with her, and possibly not being able to voice how they were treated. I wish I would have asked to speak to a supervisor, people like her should not be servicing people or holding a position there. Just plain disrespectful.

We had a telephone appointment with Mrs.Outler from the Gainesville office, she was extremely friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful.
Our call with Mrs. Outler was a text book example of outstanding customer service, we can only hope that her manager recognizes Mrs. Outlers exemplary performance.
We could not be more impressed with or appreciative of the service we received.
